Event Highlights: Café Scientifique – Exploring AI’s Impact on the Automotive Industry

On 28th October, BSBI hosted another engaging edition of Café Scientifique, delving into the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the automotive industry. The event brought together students to discuss cutting-edge advancements and the future of mobility.

The session featured an inspiring talk by Dr. Branka Jokanovic, Global Automotive Solutions Architect at Amazon. Dr. Jokanovic shed light on the pivotal AI technologies — machine learning, computer vision and natural language processing — that are revolutionising the automotive landscape. From enabling autonomous driving to optimising predictive maintenance, she highlighted how these innovations contribute to creating smarter, safer and more sustainable vehicles.

The discussion was moderated by Flavio Andrew do Nascimento Santos, Café Scientifique Coordinator and Lecturer at BSBI. Participants gained valuable insights into the integration of next-gen AI across the automotive sector and the potential it holds for shaping the future of transportation.
