Creative Careers in Focus: BSBI Hosts Gravite Talk and Portfolio Workshop for Hamburg Campus Students

On 12 and 13 November 2024, Berlin School of Business and Innovation’s Hamburg Campus buzzed with creativity and career inspiration as the Careers Team hosted two exciting professional events.

The spotlight first turned to Gravite – a dynamic organisation in the online advertising and gaming industries – who gave a company presentation on 12 November. The event began with a warm welcome from Dr Okan Tansu, Interim Dean of the Faculty of Creative Industries, who greeted newly enrolled students before handing the stage to Denise Schmidt-Morales, Talent Acquisition Manager at Gravite. She provided the audience with valuable insights into the digital marketing sector and presented career opportunities for creative talent within the organisation.

The following day, a careers workshop entitled “Design a Work Portfolio: Start Your Career in the Creative Industries” took place. It was led by Martyna Zmijewska, BSBI Careers Advisor, along with Hamburg Campus lecturers Moylin Chong, Nicole Pfeifer and Jonas Becker. Participants uncovered the secrets to crafting standout portfolios, learning how to highlight their best work, skills and creative processes in ways that captivate potential employers and collaborators. Key topics included portfolio structure, visual storytelling, project selection and guidance tailored to fields such as design, illustration, print, film and animation.

The Careers Service has been steadily expanding its support for students and recent graduates at Hamburg Campus while developing a network of industry partners who inform and support the employability agenda of the Faculty of Creative Industries.
