BSBI Students Represent at the Amsterdam IC Shorts Programme 2025

From 28 July to 1 August 2025, BSBI students participated in an enriching student engagement initiative called IC Shorts, hosted by the University of Applied Sciences Europe – Amsterdam. This week-long workshop and seminar brought together a select group of creative and motivated students for an intensive experience focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration.

Participants were carefully selected through a competitive process led by the Student Engagement Manager and Welfare Lead, in partnership with Liz Fernando, Head of Campus Operations Hamburg. Students demonstrated active involvement in campus engagement, as well as their creativity, teamwork, and potential for professional growth. Liz Fernando also served as the group leader for the BSBI delegation, providing guidance and support throughout the experience.

The IC Shorts programme equips students with entrepreneurial and business skills through hands-on, project-based learning. Workshops covered areas such as business planning, market research, financial modelling, branding, and investor pitching. Students worked in teams to develop and refine their own business ideas, focusing on transforming creativity into marketable value, teaching students not only how to develop an original product or idea but also how to position it effectively, communicate its value, and pitch it to potential investors.

Complementing the core workshops and seminars were cultural excursions and team-building activities that enriched the overall experience. These activities allowed students to connect, collaborate, and immerse themselves in Amsterdam’s vibrant entrepreneurial and creative spirit.

Accommodation at ClinkNOORD Hostel and meals throughout the week were fully provided, ensuring the programme remained accessible and inclusive.

The week concluded with the Final Pitch Ceremony, where each team presented their business plans. Awards were given for Best Overall Pitch and Most Innovative Business Idea, and every participant received an official certificate recognising their achievements.
