BSBI holds trip to Crowne Plaza Berlin

On Tuesday 13 February, Berlin School of Business and Innovation BA and MA Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management students visited the Crowne Plaza Berlin in the Potsdamer Platz area in Berlin.

Kamilia Kentra, Mina Amrovani and Moustafa Gaballa, BSBI Lecturers, accompanied by Michael Ferenc, Careers Service Manager at BSBI, took a group of 18 students to the hotel that belongs to the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), which is the largest hotel group in the world, operating in just under 100 countries. IHG has more than 400 hotels and 110,000 bedrooms located in cities, resorts, coastal towns or near major airports.

The visit included an extensive tour of the venue with access to its bars, lounges, meeting rooms, event areas and the high-end guest rooms. The tour was conducted by Liubov Lindau, Convention Sales Manager at Crowne Plaza Berlin, and was followed by a Q&A session with Yannick Kamstra, HR Manager at Crowne Plaza Berlin, to conclude the visit. Kunal Shah, Front Office Manager at the hotel, who is a BSBI graduate, also answered questions from the students.

The trip was an opportunity for BSBI students to learn about the IHG Group, the student recruitment processes and the working culture in the hospitality sector in Germany. It was also part of a larger drive by the BSBI Careers Service to forge closer links with local industry to create new partnerships for academic, career and commercial purposes.
