BSBI Hosts Guest Speaker Event for MBA Entrepreneurship Pathway Students

On 24 November, Berlin School of Business and Innovation hosted a guest speaker event as part of its MBA Entrepreneurship Pathway, organised by Anastasia Kiritsi, Lecturer at BSBI. Mr Spyros Martsekis, Founder and Managing Partner of Ionian Capital, provided students with important insights and case studies into some of the major deals his company has achieved. This included a case where he secured multimillion-euro access to capital for the famous LPG shipping company, StealthGas.Ionian Capital is an independent Athens-based boutique advisory firm which focusses on advising global capital (including hedge funds and sovereign wealth funds) and companies in raising debt or equity for projects. Before starting the company, Mr Martsekis held many significant roles including Head for Greece and Cyprus for HSBC Private Bank as well as being responsible for the corporate finance and private equity advisory practice at KPMG.The students found the event very useful, particularly Mr Martsekis’s emphasis on the importance of building a proper business plan to gain the trust of investors and banks, as well as attracting personnel. BSBI looks forward to hosting more events like this in the future.
