event overview

This event explores the concept of micro-migration as a forward-thinking response to climate change and environmental degradation. It presents a vision where countries invest in transforming ecologically damaged regions into thriving “micro-lungs” that support biodiversity, carbon absorption, and clean air and water systems.

Rather than large-scale relocation to a single habitable region, micro-migration focuses on creating localised environmental regeneration projects across the globe. These “micro-lungs” would act as protected ecological zones that help restore natural balance and support endangered species.

The model encourages local ownership and responsibility, empowering communities to actively participate in environmental protection and sustainability. By rethinking conservation at a regional level, the approach offers a practical and scalable solution to global environmental challenges.
