Our BSBI Café Scientifique Coordinator, Flavio Andrew do Nascimento Santos, will host the next Café Scientifique event with the topic, Information Systems and the Future of Travel.
The core of the discussion will be about technology, information, and geolocation and how these are shaping the way we travel. We have Mr. Josip Čović, the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist at Booking.com, as our special guest.
Booking.com was founded in 1996 in Amsterdam and started as a small Dutch start-up. It has now become one of the world’s leading digital travel companies. Mr Čović’s will explain how booking.com uses information systems and geolocation data and will also dig into its advantages and disadvantages. This discussion will incite a thoughtful process for participants who are also tourists and for companies in the tourism sector, to rethink the future of travel, and how to further improve customer experience given the unpredictability of the industry and the lasting impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Finally, we will also explore topics such as data quality and feedback loop for Geographic Information Systems including a mix of topics that cover business and innovation development in science and technology.
Join us on this hybrid event on 3rd of November. We will have our BSBI students on Berlin campus and will also go live on YouTube.
