Overview

Dr. Dr. Ana-Maria Oltețeanu is an Artificial Intelligence expert with 15 years of experience in research, teaching, and innovation. She has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers and led AI innovation projects across EdTech, cognitive systems, and health and wellbeing.

Her work spans the development of AI-driven MVPs and innovation consulting for startups, NGOs, and universities in sectors such as HR, psychometrics, wellbeing, cognitive enhancement, healthTech, sustainability and EdTech SaaS / AIaaS. She is passionate about shaping the innovative research and technology businesses of tomorrow and building AI systems that support human learning, creativity, and decision-making.

Previously as Director of Research and Transfer at Constructor University, she led research strategy, AI transformation of research processes, and technology transfer to industry, while helping administer 10 million euro grants/year.

Previously, she served as AI Professor, Program Director AI & Sustainable Tech, and VP of Research at Tomorrow University of Applied Sciences, where she helped accredit AI-related programmes, scaled them and developed grant winning AI innovation in Edtech.

Awards and Honors / Professional Roles

  • AI Expert for the European Commission (Horizon 2020, FET, HADEA, MSCA and related programmes), advising on and reviewing research funding exceeding €90 million.
  • Obtained >2.2 million euro for own research and innovation projects
  • Judge, Global Challenge Lab 2021, an international entrepreneurship programme on UN SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).
  • Editorial and guest editor roles for journals and special issues in Cognitive Systems Research, Frontiers in Psychology, Frontiers in Robotics and AI, and Frontiers in ICT.
  • Junior Associate AI Expert Fellow, Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg (HWK), Delmenhorst (2016–2018), on AI supporting the human mind and creative problem solving.
