BSBI announces new recipient of the Sherryl Kintu Scholarship 2026

BSBI is proud to announce the latest recipient of the Sherryl Kintu Scholarship, awarded this year to an ambitious student from Pakistan Bushra Shaikh. Chosen for her creativity, strong academic motivation and clear financial need, she will receive full tuition support for the duration of her programme.

In her application, the student described how the award will allow her to focus fully on her studies and future career in the global fashion industry. She shared:

“I am eager to represent BSBI’s values of diversity and ambition, and with this scholarship, I can channel my energy into learning, networking, and future leadership—rather than financial survival. Your investment in my education would ensure that my potential is fully realized.”

The scholarship selection panel highlighted her commitment to developing innovative and sustainable strategies for emerging markets, as well as her desire to contribute actively to the BSBI community.

Honouring Sherryl Kintu’s legacy

The Sherryl Kintu Scholarship was created in memory of Sherryl Kintu, a respected leader at Global University Systems. Over nine years, Sherryl progressed from Executive Assistant to Director level, recognised for her trustworthiness, creativity and drive. The scholarship continues her legacy by supporting talented students in areas she championed, including entrepreneurship among Black women and the creative arts.

Each year, one full scholarship is awarded to a student on one of BSBI’s creative programmes within the Faculty of Creative Industries. Applicants are evaluated on their passion, ambition and creativity, as well as the impact the scholarship will have on their goals and financial situation.
