Whether you have aspirations of running your own hotel or managing a catering company, the BA (Hons) Tourism and Hospitality Management will equip you with the skills needed to do so successfully. Delivered in partnership with University of the Creative Arts (UCA), this programme will help you develop extensive knowledge of the industry by choosing one of two pathways to help you steer your career in the right direction.

You’ll have the option to choose between the three or four-year programme. The four-year programme includes a foundation year which will introduce you to the fundamentals of creative business and management whilst preparing you to use the English language in academic work.

What will you experience?

The BA programme is divided into two pathways: Tourism and Event Management, and Hospitality and Food and Beverage. You’ll choose which pathway suits your interests during your first year which will then determine the rest of your studies. Although you’ll study specific modules depending on your pathway, all students will have core modules that focus on various elements of tourism and hospitality including marketing, law and human resource management.

All of our students are taught in our well-equipped classrooms through lectures, discussions and even class visits. As you’ll be based in Berlin, you’ll be surrounded by some of the world’s top employers as well as a thriving start-up community.

Programme Structure

The majority of your work will be completed in groups and on-going support will be provided through the use of structured, targeted individual tutorials and online tutorials.

The learning and teaching will consist of a variety of elements such as lectures, tutorials, workshops, animated/non-animated video, practical work, seminars and trips. The assessment strategy will include individual/group reports and/or presentations, case studies, essays, open/closed book exams, portfolio development, reflective journals and experiential work based activities.

Minimum age

18 years old (titled awarded upon completion of at least 12 years of schooling)

Academic Qualifications

A school leaving certificate that allows you to pursue higher education in Germany (e.g. Abitur, Fachhochschulreife, Matura or International Baccalaureate), or International school leaving certificates, or BTEC/National Diploma, or Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education

English Language requirements

IELTS – minimum score of 6.0 (minimum 5.5 in each component),

PTE – minimum score of 50 or equivalent.
