WHO IS THIS PROGRAMME FOR

The MSc in International Health Management has been designed in order to provide the necessary knowledge and expertise to managers and leaders of the health sector. The emphasis is on health management in an international and local setting, and the programme draws on an emerging body of knowledge and evidence to allow comparisons across different countries.

European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS)
• 90 ECTS: 18 months duration – Location: Berlin
This helps student mobility in the EU when it comes to transferring credits from one higher education institution to another.

WHAT WILL THE STUDENT EXPERIENCE?

Throughout the MSc International Health Management programme, you will explore the essential concepts of health management, including leadership and decision-making, health strategy, operations management, health economics, information technology, and research methods.

By the time you graduate, you will have developed strong problem-solving and decision-making skills that are crucial for effective healthcare management. In the final term, you will demonstrate these competencies by conducting independent research and completing a dissertation on a relevant topic of your choice.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Academic Profile

  • Min age: 21
  • Academic qualifications: A three-year bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution in a related discipline.
  • High-school certificate.
  • If you do not have a bachelor’s degree, but you have another academic qualification such as HND or a Level 5 Diploma and/or professional experience, you are also welcome to apply.
  • Our experienced team of programme advisors will conduct a preliminary evaluation of your academic credentials and guide you further on the process.

English Proficiency

  • IELTS: 6.0 overall . TOEFL IBT: Overall, 80 (Listening 17, Reading 18, Speaking 20, Writing 17). Pearson Test of English (PTE): 50. Duolingo English Test: 95+.

Knowledge and Understanding of Health Management

Upon successful completion of the MSc in International Health Management programme, graduates will demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of health management, planning, and policy-making. They will be able to identify, describe, and critically analyse major issues affecting management, planning, and policy within health and health-related sectors.

Health Policy and Systems Analysis

Graduates will be equipped to identify and explain the context, challenges, and opportunities involved in the formulation and implementation of health policy within national health systems. They will also be able to review and evaluate a range of policies, situations, and issues relevant to the field of health management.

Applied Health Management Skills

The programme develops the ability to apply knowledge and practical skills in selected areas of health management, planning, and policy to local healthcare settings. Graduates will be prepared to address healthcare challenges and contribute to the effective management and improvement of health services.

Health Economics and Research

Students will gain an understanding of the role of health economics and learn to apply key economic techniques to support financial planning and decision-making. In addition, they will develop strong research capabilities, enabling them to conduct primary and secondary research to inform evidence-based practice and support the development of effective healthcare policies and management strategies.
