Berlin, 7 January 2019 – Berlin School of Business and Innovation (BSBI) is delighted to announce that its academic partner, the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO, has recently joined the Universities #JoinTogether Network.
This organisation was established in 2018 to share ideas and best practices aimed at the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), bringing together universities from all over the world. UNINETTUNO is the only Italian university to become a member of the network, on the back of the commitment shown in the achievement of the UN 2030 sustainable development goals.
Professor Maria Amata Garito, Rector of UNINETTUNO, signed a declaration of membership during a conference held at the UN Headquarters in New York, where she presented the model of the ‘University for Refugees’. “This initiative will create a laboratory for true integration enhancing good immigration, dialogue and the peaceful coexistence among people.
“UNINETTUNO is committed to support refugees students looking to continue their studies. They have shown courage and dedication in pursuing their education, and we want to give them back their dignity and the instruments to re-build their own future.”
Alexander Zeitelhack, Academic Dean at BSBI, commented: “We are happy to see our main academic partner receive such an important recognition. We share with UNINETTUNO the passion for innovation and inclusion in higher education, and we are honoured to have the possibility to continue working alongside them.”
