On Tuesday 4 February, Professor Barriga represented BSBI at the recent German Chapter of UN-PRME, gathering the schools championing the project in the country.
“It was very helpful to understand how we can participate and what we can learn. The pedagogical, cutting-edge practices that are put in place are amazing, as well as the plans to embed sustainability into what we can do at BSBI,” added Professor Barriga.
Berlin School of Business and Innovation (BSBI) is proud to announce that it recently became an official signatory of the ‘United Nations – Principles for Responsible Management Education’ (UN-PRME) global initiative.
Launched in 2007, the UN-PRME is a platform designed to raise the profile of sustainability in schools around the world to equip business students with the understanding and ability to deliver economic, social and environmental value.
With over 650 signatories worldwide, PRME has become the most innovative, organised relationship between the United Nations and management-related, higher education institutions.
By joining UN-PRME, BSBI commits to embracing the six founding principles for responsible management education — purpose, values, method, research, partnership and dialogue. Professor Dr J. Manuel Barriga, MBA Programme Leader at BSBI, said: “It’s a great pleasure to be part of this project. This initiative shall provide students with state-of-the-art knowledge and skills around new sustainable business models, whilst helping them capitalise on the vibrant sustainability scene and opportunities of Berlin and Germany.”
